WINTERS

O Winters, thou engulfed the sun
the foggy and misty mornings
snowfall adding to thy glory
painting everything white
nature's call for peace in fading light.
The day's longing for sunlight
an eerie silence about the night
tinge of romanticism in the air
of growing human desire
the unending conversations around the bonfire.
Don't be fooled by the niceties
ask those without a roof
the wrath of cold winds
pleading won't grant mercy
for winters are unforgiving.
From autumn to spring
and everything in between
embrace the weather change with a smile
change - the only constant
of long nights and dark days
winters never cease to amaze.

LET THERE BE LIGHT

Eclipsed by the shadows of ego
drunk on self-conceit
the hardwired beliefs
some fallible, others concrete.

Man and his greed
all the vices in between
soul-crushed
spirit-exhausted
willingly unkeen.

Lying in the dungeons of darkness
only to rot in misery
from unawares to awareness
unconscious to consciousness
certainly an inner thing
illuminate the life from within
let there be light
and soar to greater heights.
